Which events can be imported?
Introduction
Events which are publically available on Ticketmaster can be imported to your website. By default, the importer runs automatically on a daily basis checking for all new events published in Ticketmaster. If requested, however, it can be configured to run more frequently and we can also force the execution of the importer manually, which we have outlined below.
Steps
First check that the event is available on Ticketmaster, as the importer can only check the events that are publicly available. This means that only the events that appear on their website (ticketmaster.com) can be imported.
To do this we must go to ‘Events’ > ‘Venues’ and in the venues list, we have the option “Refresh from Ticketmaster” as shown below.
Selecting this option will bring you up a confirmation screen. Click on ‘Import’ to start the importing process.
The importer connects to Ticketmaster and after a few minutes, the new events found will be created.
Which information is fulfilled from Ticketmaster?
The importer creates the events with the following information:
Title: The title of the event. In the example: “Andre Rieu”
Description: The description of the event. In the example is empty.
Publish status: Depending on the venue setting, it will be “Pending” or “Published”
Genre: The genre of the event. In the example: “Classical”
Subgenre: The subgenre of the event. In the example: “Classical/Vocal”
Type: The type of the event. In the example: “Music”
Venue: By default, the venue. In the example: “UBS Arena”
Ticketmaster Event ID: The ID for this event in Tickemaster.
Event Subtitle: The subtitle for the event.
On-sale Date: The date when the event is on sale.
Groups Sales Applicable: When an event can be sold in a group. By default “No”.
Display Price: “Yes” if we want to show the price on the event detail, “No” by default.
Default Event Status:
The status defined in the venue by default.
If the status is “Pending”, we should manually approve the event publishing it.
If the status is “Published”, the event will appear in the site immediately.
Event Detail Image: The image that will be displayed in the list of events.
Featured image: The image that will be displayed in the event detail.
Summary
While events are automatically imported to your platform everyday, you can trigger this import manually via the Wordpress dashboard. Once imported, the event will be created with information from Ticketmaster as outlined above.
